15 or 16 years ago, back in art school, I took some semesters of pottery and learned, among other things, how to throw on the wheel, how to test and mix glazes, and other such things. A year and a half ago, on a tip from a former colleague, I started working in the ceramic studio again. And it's amazing what having access to a studio, and a regular work schedule, can do for one such as myself, an adult who has lost the flow that comes from immersion in the art school atmosphere.
