I asked my friends for input on the next spread, and they said “bonsai trees.” Alright, let’s see where this takes us.

I don’t remember when or how I added the car element, but I enjoyed riffing on the combination and scale silliness. The text is lifted from an old Jaguar ad from the 50’s or 60’s.

Somewhere along the line I remembered thinking about wool wearing medieval Europeans, upon encountering cotton for the first time, coined the term “baumull” (baum = tree; ull = wool) out of a misunderstanding around how a textile might come from not a sheep?
